Communities

Community guides

Seven towns, seven different versions of daily life. A ranch road outside Placerville and a gated street in Serrano are both El Dorado County addresses, but the days lived at them have almost nothing in common. I work in all of these towns, and I have written each guide the way I talk about the place with a buyer in my car: what it feels like, what the homes and land are actually like, how the commute works, and the questions people always end up asking. Start with the town you are curious about. If you are deciding between two, read both. The differences are the point.

Placerville

A Gold Rush county seat on Highway 50 with a working Main Street, oak covered hills around it, and acreage in every direction. This is my home ground, and the place to start if land matters more to you than a subdivision.

El Dorado Hills

Master planned villages, the Serrano golf community, and Town Center, set where the valley floor gives way to foothill oak country. Organized, polished, and built around village life.

Folsom

A city organized around a lake: trails, water, a historic district on Sutter Street, and neighborhoods that range from older streets near the river to new construction south of Highway 50.

Cameron Park

The quiet one between El Dorado Hills and Placerville. Bigger lots, oak trees, a lake, and a residential airpark where some residents taxi planes home from the runway.

Rancho Cordova

Two cities in one: an older core along Folsom Boulevard and a fast growing east side of new master planned neighborhoods, with light rail running through both.

Roseville

Placer County's largest city, and its retail and jobs center. Established suburbs, the Galleria and Fountains, and my own office on Gibson Drive.

Rocklin

Roseville's smaller neighbor, built on granite quarry history. Whitney Oaks, Quarry Park, an older core along Rocklin Road, and newer subdivisions filling in around them.
