Start with a walkthrough
Before ordering paint or scheduling a contractor, walk through the property with a fresh set of eyes. Note visible wear, incomplete projects, crowded spaces, and features that are difficult to appreciate. Separate what needs attention from what simply reflects personal taste.
Give every project a purpose
A useful preparation project should address a specific concern or make an important feature easier to understand. Ask what the work is intended to accomplish, what it costs, how long it will take, and whether that time fits your move. Avoid assuming every improvement will produce a matching increase in price.
Make rooms easy to read
Buyers should be able to understand how the spaces function. Editing furniture, clearing counters, organizing storage, and improving light can help the layout feel more understandable. You do not need to erase the personality of the home; you do want its useful features to be visible.
Prepare the information too
Gather maintenance records, improvement information, warranties you have, and questions you need help answering. Keep a list of known property issues to discuss with your agent. Preparation includes the information behind the house as well as its appearance.
Set the launch calendar
Work backward from photography and the intended market date. Leave time for cleaning, exterior work, and final checks. Andrea can help you decide which items belong before launch and which are better addressed through pricing and clear communication.
Have a question about your own move? Andrea can help you turn these ideas into a plan for your property and timing.
